Norton to Tour Two Major Projects During National Infrastructure Week, Wharf Redevelopment and the Frederick Douglass Bridge
WASHINGTON, D.C. – This week, on Thursday and Friday of National Infrastructure Week, Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC), Chair of the House Subcommittee on Highways and Transit, will showcase progress on the development of two major infrastructure projects this week that Norton's bills have brought to the District of Columbia. On Thursday, Norton will tour Phase I and the recently started Phase II of the Wharf redevelopment and will offer new information on what Phase II means for the District. On Friday, Norton will tour the construction of the new Frederick Douglass Bridge, a project that Norton secured federal funds to help build. Norton's leadership in securing land for development has helped revitalize entire D.C. neighborhoods, including Walter Reed, the Capital Riverfront, and NoMa.
