Norton to Visit Right Proper Brewing Company to Highlight D.C.’s Growing Craft Beer Industry, Today
WASHINGTON, D.C.—Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC) today at noon will visit Right Proper Brewing Company (624 T St. NW), one of a new sector of seven local craft breweries operating in the District of Columbia that she is promoting as an example of the District expanding its brand beyond the national monuments and federal government. Norton is a cosponsor of the Craft Beverage Modernization and Tax Reform Act of 2015, which would reduce taxes and regulatory burdens on small breweries.
"My work in the Congress is often focused on big construction projects that we need for our economy, but the District understands it must diversify its economy," Norton said. "I am proud that the District is as much about U Street, Shaw, and now our local breweries, as it is about being the nation's capital."
