Norton to Welcome D.C. Kids to Capitol Hill for Annual Christmas Party, Tomorrow
WASHINGTON, DC – The United Planning Organization (UPO) Inspire Foundation, in conjunction with Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC), will welcome more than 250 of the city's most disadvantaged children to their 24th annual "D.C. Children's Christmas Party on the Hill" tomorrow, Tuesday, December 17, 2013, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in 345 Cannon House Office Building. The D.C. Children's Christmas Party on the Hill will give the children gifts as well as a visit from Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus. It will also feature a clown and D.C. United's mascot.
"It is always a highlight of the year to welcome these children to Capitol Hill during the holiday season," said Norton. "The visit from Mr. and Mrs. Claus, and the toys and necessities, reflect the generosity that defines our community and encourages the kids that better times are on the horizon."
Norton said that she is particularly grateful to the many businesses, organizations, and individuals who so generously made donations or offered to volunteer their time to help make this annual party a success.
