Norton to Welcome National Symphony Orchestra to Kennedy Center as Part of SHFT Festival, Tonight
WASHINGTON, D.C.—Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC) will speak ahead of a performance by the National Symphony Orchestra tonight, Saturday, April 14, 2018, at 8:00 p.m., at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts (2700 F. St. NW). The performance is part of the Kennedy Center’s SHIFT festival, a week-long series of educational events, symposia and community events around the District of Columbia, along with full-orchestra performances in the Kennedy Center Concert Hall.
“The Kennedy Center for decades has been the central hub for fine arts here in the nation’s capital, and I am grateful to welcome the National Symphony Orchestra to perform once again for our residents,” Norton said. “The SHIFT festival in particular engages residents across the city with events that bring music and educational opportunities directly to them.”
