Norton to Welcome National Symphony Orchestra to Kennedy Center as Part of SHFT Festival, Tonight
WASHINGTON, D.C.—Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC) will introduce tonight's performance by the National Symphony Orchestra at 8:00 p.m. at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts (2700 F. St. NW). The performance is part of the Kennedy Center’s SHIFT festival, a week-long series of educational events, symposia and community events around the District of Columbia, along with full-orchestra performances in the Kennedy Center Concert Hall.
“The Kennedy Center has been the leading hub for the fine arts here in the nation’s capital, and I am grateful to welcome the National Symphony Orchestra to perform once again for our residents,” Norton said. “The SHIFT festival is in keeping with emphasis on the arts throughout my service, as it engages residents across the city with events that bring music and educational opportunities directly to them.”
