Norton to Welcome New UDC Law Students at Capitol Hill Reception and Recognize Departing Dean Shelley Broderick’s 20 Years of Service, Today

April 13, 2018

WASHINGTON, D.C.—Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC) will speak at a reception to welcome the new students from the University of the District of Columbia's (UDC) David A. Clark School of Law today, Friday, April 13, 2018, in the Rayburn Foyer, at 6:00 p.m. The annual reception will include the law school classes of 2020 and 2021. Norton will also thank her good friend Katherine "Shelley" Broderick for her nearly two decades of service as Dean of UDC's School of Law. Broderick is stepping down this summer.

"I am always eager to welcome and honor UDC law students to Capitol Hill and invite them to pursue public service opportunities, even before they graduate," Norton said. "Particularly this year, I value the opportunity to thank Dean Broderick for 20 years of splendid service to our law school and to our city. We are fortunate UDC law students, like their dean, continue to render unique services to our residents who need access to pro-bono legal services."
