Norton Uses Senatorial Privilege to Introduce Federal District Court Nominees at Senate Judiciary Hearing Tomorrow

Washington, DC -- The Office of Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC) today announced that Norton will introduce two nominees, Beryl A. Howell and Robert L. Wilkins, who are District residents, for the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia at a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing, a privilege usually reserved for home-state senators, on Wednesday, July 28, 2010, at 2:30 p.m. in 226 Dirksen SOB. President Obama, like President Clinton, granted Norton senatorial courtesy to recommend federal district court judges and other important federal law enforcement officials in the District. Norton has recommended District of Columbia U.S. Attorney Ronald Machen and U.S. Parole Commission Chairman Isaac Fulwood, Jr.
