Norton's Seniors Day to Explode Health Care Legislation Myths

WASHINGTON, DC - Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC) will welcome District of Columbia seniors to the National Geographic Museum, 1145 17th Street, NW, for her annual Seniors Legislative Day on Tuesday, June 22, 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. This year's event will focus on the issue of health care, with Congresswoman Norton addressing the group on the topic of "What the Historic Health Care Legislation Will Do for Seniors in D.C."

The seniors will be provided musical entertainment by Voices of Life, and watch a short film about National Geographic. They also will be treated to an exercise and health presentation by the Washington Seniors Wellness Center.

"Seniors are among our best informed, most engaged, and largest voting block of citizens," Norton said. "We will continue to deliver pertinent information concerning changes in federal laws and programs affecting seniors."

Norton also will present Vincent A. Keane, CEO & President of Unity Health Care, with an award commemorating the company's 25 years of providing health-care services to District residents.

The Congresswoman thanks Unity Health Care, the National Geographic Museum, the D.C. Office of Aging, Washington Seniors Wellness Center, WPFM 89.3, and the Voices of Life.
