Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, Sandra Fluke and Dr. Avis Jones-DeWeever at Norton’s Women’s History Month Forum on Tuesday
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-FL), Sandra Fluke, a Georgetown University Law student, and Dr. Avis Jones-DeWeever, executive director of the National Council of Negro Women, will speak at Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton's (D-DC) women's history month forum tomorrow, Tuesday, March 20, from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. in room 2167 Rayburn House Office Building (South Capitol Street and Independence Avenue, SE).
In a forum entitled "Opportunities & Challenges for a New Generation of Women," a congresswoman who has small children, a law student preparing for her career, and the leader of a major women's organization will explain how women manage the new opportunities available, particularly to young women, today in education and jobs, while engaging in the other aspects of a women's life, including raising children, dating, sports and making a full life.
The forum will leave plenty of time to engage the audience for questions and remarks.
