TODAY: Norton, D.C. Veterans to Hold Press Conference in Rayburn House Office Building Ahead of House Mark Up
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC) and D.C. veterans will host a press conference in the Rayburn House Office Building Room 2247 today, Friday, February 7th, at 3:00 p.m. to discuss the unique ways D.C. statehood would impact veterans. The District has 30,000 veterans who have served our country and defended the nation, yet when they returned home, they do not receive the same equality and rights they fought to defend. Norton says her D.C. statehood bill would right a 219-year wrong. District residents have served in every U.S. war, including the Revolutionary War, which established the nation.
Media attending can RSVP to jack.miller@mail.house.gov.
