Union Station Roundtable Takes on Traffic Congestion and Development, Wednesday

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC) will host a roundtable, entitled "Solving Traffic Congestion at Union Station and Preparing for a Makeover Inside," from 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. tomorrow, Wednesday, October 8, 2014, in 2167 Rayburn House Office Building, to discuss a plan to resolve traffic congestion, plans for development at Union Station and short-term and long-term goals for improvements. Representatives from the Union Station Redevelopment Corporation (USRC), the District of Columbia Department of Transportation, Amtrak, the Federal City Council, the National Park Service, and Akridge will discuss these issues as well as take questions and suggestions from D.C. residents.

"D.C. residents and Members of Congress alike have complained about traffic problems at Union Station, and I believe the USRC has found a way to solve the problem," Norton said. "I urge our residents to come out and engage with Union Station officials and others involved in the remake of this essential, historic centerpiece of our city and region."
