With November D.C. Statehood Referendum Approaching, Norton to Speak on House Floor on New Bipartisan Push for Statehood, This Evening

WASHINGTON, D.C.—Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC) will take to the House floor this evening at approximately 7:10 p.m. to praise new bipartisan support in the District of Columbia for the upcoming referendum in November for D.C. statehood.

“As we get closer to November’s vote on D.C. statehood, I want my colleagues in the House to be prepared to consider our petition to enter the union as the 51^st state,” Norton said. “With Democratic and Republican residents coming together like never before to support statehood, the signal to Republicans here in the House is that they should do the same.”
