Norton to Introduce Resolution Designating September as ‘National Campus Sexual Assault Awareness Month’

August 31, 2022

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC) will introduce her annual resolution supporting the designation of September as "National Campus Sexual Assault Awareness Month."

"The high rates of sexual assault at colleges point to the continuing importance of my resolution," Norton said.

Norton has introduced this resolution for the past several years to highlight the problem of sexual assaults on campuses. In the wake of the Harvey Weinstein scandal, the exposure of Jeffrey Epstein, the #MeToo movement, and especially sexual assaults in campus settings, Norton said that her determination to continue to speak out has only grown, and that we must change behavior and institutions at the earliest stages.
