WASHINGTON, D.C. — Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC) today announced the process for applying to her office for Community Project Funding, formerly known as earmarks, for fiscal year 2024. For a Community Project Funding request to be considered, eligible entities must submit an application by 5:00 p.m. on March 15, 2023, to NortonCommunityProjectFunding@mail.house.gov. Only non-profits and governments are eligible and the subcommittees’ requirements can be found here. Late or incomplete applications, including applications that do not provide the information required by the relevant subcommittee, will not be considered.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC), the co-chair of the Quiet Skies Caucus and a member of the Subcommittee on Aviation, today introduced a bill to require helicopters in District of Columbia airspace to fly at the maximum altitude permitted by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), with limited exceptions. The exceptions would include active law enforcement investigations, transporting the president and vice president, and safety.

Once sworn in, Reyes will be the first Hispanic woman and first openly LGBTQ person ever to serve on that court. Norton's first two recommendations to Biden for the same court, Jia Cobb and Florence Pan, were confirmed by the Senate and are serving on the bench.
