WASHINGTON, D.C.—The office of Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC) today announced that her 2015 Small Business Fair will take place on Wednesday, June 10, 2015, from 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center (801 Mount Vernon Place NW). The event is free of charge, open only to D.C. residents and D.C. small businesses, and seating is first-come, first-served. WASHINGTON, D.C.—Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC) today released her comments to the U.S. Marine Corps regarding the Draft Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) on the project in the District of Columbia to rebuild the Marine barracks known as Bachelor Enlisted Quarters Building 20, saying it would be “unacceptable for the U.S. Marine Corps to select one of three alternative sites that are privately owned or leased.”

WASHINGTON, D.C.—Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC) announced that the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee today passed her provision directing the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) to sell or exchange the Department of Energy’s (DOE) Forrestal Complex, at 1000 Independence Avenue SW, and use the funds to construct a new DOE headquarters in accordance with the National Capital Planning Commission’s (NCPC) Southwest Ecodistrict Plan.

WASHINGTON, D.C.—Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC) released a letter she sent today to U.S. Capitol Police (USCP) Chief Kim Dine requesting clarification on USCP’s policy on removing demonstrators from House and Senate committee hearings and business meetings (markups). Norton is seeking clarification after a District of Columbia resident was forcibly removed from a House Oversight and Government Reform Committee hearing on April 21 despite witness accounts that the resident was not demonstrating. The resident has since been charged with unlawful entry.
