WASHINGTON, D.C.—In response to an article in The Hill today suggesting that Republicans could try to block a bill recently passed by the District of Columbia Council expanding access to birth control pills, Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC) said that she cannot wait to fight any and all efforts in Congress to block the bill, including in the upcoming appropriations process.

Shearin, Sr. Community Life Center (MLS Community Life Center) tomorrow, Thursday, June 4, at 11:30 a.m. at the Israel Baptist Church (1251 Saratoga Street NE). The new Brentwood health center was created in partnership with Israel Manor, Inc., the non-profit development arm of Israel Baptist Church.

WASHINGTON, D.C.—Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC) today said she was so concerned about mechanical problems with the Washington Monument’s main elevator that have reemerged again during tourist season that she will meet with National Park Service (NPS) officials when the elevator is fixed to discuss the long-term condition of the elevator and what steps can be taken to reduce and eliminate breakdowns in the future. NPS has closed the Monument to visitors until Thursday, June 4.
