Jarvis and U.S. Park Police (USPP) Acting Chief Robert D. MacLean concerning a dangerous increase in crime in Sherman Circle and the intersection at Crittenden Street.
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-D.C.) today released the following statement in response to the Supreme Court's Hobby Lobby contraception ruling:
"Today's Supreme Court decision narrows some women's access to birth control coverage by expanding, for the first time, the rights of some corporations to claim a religious exemption. As a result, many women and families will be unable to prevent unintended pregnancies. Unfortunately, those who are most likely to be affected are girls and young women who are not prepared to be parents."

Washington, DC – The Office of Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC) today released the names of the seven Members of the House Appropriations Committee who voted yesterday to block the District of Columbia's marijuana decriminalization bill despite the fact that their own states have either decriminalized or legalized marijuana. The amendment, sponsored by Representative Andy Harris (R-MD), passed 28-21. The members, all Republicans, are: Ken Calvert (CA), Jeff Fortenberry (NE), Jaime Herrera Beutler (WA), David Joyce (OH), David Valadao (CA), Harris, and Mark Amodei (NV).
