Norton recommended Graves to Biden. Biden, like Presidents Clinton and Obama, has granted Norton senatorial courtesy for judges on the U.S. District Court for D.C., the U.S. Attorney for D.C., the U.S. Marshal for the D.C. Superior Court, and the U.S. Marshal for the U.S. District Court for D.C.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, the Committee on Oversight and Reform passed Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton’s (D-DC) bill to require the Director of the Court Services and Offender Supervision Agency for the District of Columbia (CSOSA) and the Director of the Pretrial Services Agency for the District of Columbia (PSA) to be District of Columbia residents during their tenure. CSOSA and PSA are federal agencies.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC) announced today that the House Committee on Natural Resources passed her District of Columbia Flood Prevention Act as part of the Ocean-Based Climate Solutions Act of 2021. Norton’s bill would amend the Coastal Zone Management Act of 1972 (CZMA) to include the District of Columbia in the definition of a coastal state, making D.C. eligible for federal coastal zone management funding and granting it oversight authority over federally issued permits, facilities, and actions that affect the coastal waters of the District. Last Congress, Norton’s bill passed the House as part of the Coastal and Great Lakes Communities Enhancement Act.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC) announced that 10 out of the 12 House Appropriations Committee reports direct federal agencies to report on advertising contracts with small disadvantaged businesses and businesses owned by minorities and women in their budget justifications. Norton has a standalone bill that would require the same, but the reports accomplish this purpose.
