WASHINGTON, DC – Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton’s (D-DC) first recommendation, in 2010, to President Obama for the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, Robert Wilkins, today was nominated by the President for a promotion from the district court to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit (D.C. Circuit Court), widely regarded as the second most powerful court in the United States. Of the nine justices currently on the Supreme Court, four came from the D.C. Circuit Court.

Grant Memorial on 1st St. NW, between Pennsylvania Ave. NW and Maryland Ave. SW. Both men are currently federal employees, Johnson at the Department of Defense, Defense POW/Missing Personnel Office, and Kovanda at the National Institutes of Health.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC) will speak today, Wednesday, May 29, 2013, at 10:15 a.m., at 1100 Alabama Ave. SE, at the groundbreaking for the St. Elizabeths Gateway Pavilion. The Gateway Pavilion, being built in anticipation of the coming of the first federal employees to be housed east of the Anacostia River, will be a multi-purpose outdoor structure serving District residents, visitors, small businesses and federal employees.
