WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Office of Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC) today announced that she will be one of the recipients of the 2012 Distinguished Service to the Humanities Award, to be presented Thursday, October 18, 2012, from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the offices of Hogan Lovells LLP (555 13th Street NW). The Humanities Council of Washington, DC will honor Norton for the contributions she has made as a member of Congress, tenured professor of law at Georgetown University, civil rights figure, and feminist leader.
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC) today alerted residents in the Ward Circle neighborhood to sidewalk and lane closures as the construction project at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Nebraska Avenue complex finishes up. The sidewalk along Nebraska Avenue NW in front of the DHS complex is closed for three weeks and the curb lane adjacent to the sidewalk is closed to traffic during daytime hours.
