WASHINGTON, DC – Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC) has confirmed that the T Street Post Office (14th St. and Wallach St., NW) will be moving to the Reeves Center (14th St. and U St., NW) after its lease expires in February. The move will allow T Street Post Office customers to continue to have convenient access to postal services without interruption.
WASHINGTON, D.C. – District of Columbia veterans and residents today joined Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC) and D.C. Mayor Vincent C. Gray to oppose H.R. 938, which would re-dedicate the D.C. War Memorial as a national World War I memorial, nationalizing the city's own memorial. The House Committee on Natural Resources Subcommittee on National Parks, Forests, and Public Lands will hold a hearing on this bill on Tuesday.

Haney, a native Washingtonian and graduate of Eastern Senior High School and the U.S. Naval Academy, has been promoted to four-star admiral and has taken command of the Navy's Pacific Fleet, the world's largest fleet. The change of command ceremony took place Friday morning in Hawaii. Admiral Haney is only the second African-American Naval Officer to be promoted to four-star admiral, the highest non-wartime rank in the Navy. The first was also a District native and graduate of D.C.
