Norton Begins Rebates Days to Help Shut-In Get Stimulus Claims

Washington, D.C. î º With the mailing of the first stimulus rebate checks this week, the office of Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC) announced that she will bring two tax experts to District nursing homes to help shut-ins fill out the paperwork necessary to claim their rebates. The first Rebate Day will be at the D.C.- owned Washington Center of Aging Services, 2601 18th Street, NE, on Monday, May 5, from 12:00 PM -1:30 PM.

Norton Forum to Hear from D.C. Women Who Served in Iraq

Washington, D.C. - Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC) will host a forum featuring three D.C. National Guard women back from combat duty in Iraq on Monday, April 21, 2008, 5:30 PM to 7:30PM in 2203 Rayburn. The forum, to be moderated by Commander Carol Holland, will be followed by a reception honoring the Commander and the three soldiers, Specialist Stephanie Wade, Captain Yolanda Lee and Captain Gladys Lanier.
