Norton Gets D.C. National Guard for Height Ceremonies
Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC), upon learning that there was no appropriate honor guard for ceremonies honoring Dr. Dorothy Height, this afternoon called D.C. National Guard Commander, Major General Errol Schwartz, and secured an honor guard. Norton did the same for Rosa Parks, securing the D.C. National Guard as the honor guard when Parks was laid in honor in the Capitol Rotunda and for her funeral that followed.
